Hello! My name is Britany Turinske, and I am the Saxophone Coach!  I have been teaching music and band since 2017. I currently teach K–5 elementary general music and grades 5–12 instrumental music at Northwood School in Minong, Wisconsin. Being in a small school district for so long has shown me the importance and impact having a strong relationship with students can have,  especially in the music and band rooms.  

I earned my Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and a Master’s in Educational Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Superior. I have been playing saxophone for over 20 years. During my undergrad I participated in multiple quartets, small ensembles, jazz bands, large ensembles and marched with the Blugold Marching Band. As a full time teacher and mother I have less time to perform than I did in college, but I still perform in a variety of community ensembles when I am able to.

I live in Spooner with my husband and three children,  Ayla, Luna and Arlo. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks, painting, spending time outdoors during the summer, and doing my best to avoid going outside during Wisconsin winters.
