Louella Derrico serves as the choral and general music teacher at Stanley-Boyd Middle and High School, where she also acts as the music director and choreographer for the high school’s annual musical production. Louella’s ensembles have consistently earned exemplary ratings at festivals, with many of her students advancing to the state level for Solo & Ensemble.

Louella holds both a Bachelor of Music Education (2022) and a Master of Music Education with a Choral Conducting Certificate (2026) from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Her academic contributions include presenting graduate research at the 2021 AIME conference and participating in the UWSP Conducting Symposium in 2024. Beyond the classroom, she has served as a choral clinician and a church pianist in the area. She also maintains a small private studio, mentoring piano students from beginner to intermediate levels.

Having traveled as a student performer in 2016, Louella is thrilled to return to Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music (WAM) as a choral coach for the alto section. When she isn’t making music, she enjoys staying active with volleyball and pickleball, traveling, crafting, and spending time with her two cats. She is so excited to join the staff this year and can’t wait to make music with such a talented group of musicians.
